A New Settlement for Britain.
Britain does not lack wealth, talent or ambition. What Britain lacks is a coherent economic settlement capable of turning those strengths into sustained prosperity.
Manifesto 1.0 proposes a different settlement: security without dependency, responsibility without abandonment, growth without complacency and long-term reform rather than short-term giveaways.
A new social contract.
The citizen receives security. In return, the citizen who is capable of contributing is expected to contribute.
Security
Nobody who genuinely cannot work should be abandoned.
Responsibility
Those capable of contributing should work, study, train or otherwise participate.
Growth
Britain should actively encourage enterprise, investment, productivity, housing and technology.
The numbers.
Read it. Challenge it. Improve it.
Manifesto 1.0 is deliberately versioned. It is an attempt to start a serious debate, not a claim that every assumption is correct.
If evidence demonstrates that an idea is wrong, it should change.
