An idea before a movement.
Manifesto 1.0 is an independent attempt to start a serious debate about Britain's next economic and social settlement.
Why Manifesto 1.0?
The project begins from a simple premise: Britain does not lack wealth, talent or ambition, but its economic and social settlement increasingly struggles to reconcile security, affordability, work, investment and long-term national resilience.
Manifesto 1.0 brings together income security, work incentives, taxation, housing, healthcare, social care, energy, defence, technology, welfare, pensions and infrastructure.
What it is — and isn't
It is
A policy proposal, an invitation to debate and a framework that can be revised as evidence improves.
It isn't
Not a political party, not an official government costing and not a claim that every policy is already proven.
